One body in the river. Six statements. Ten years of questions. What happened to Scott Davies? Find out in The Inquest!

105 minutes

Audience members of The Inquest are treated as if they are their real selves, joining a Zoom call not to watch a show, but to participate in a Remote Coroner’s Hearing. The Coroner explains that they are here to come to a verdict on the death of Scott Davies, a young man who lost his life in 2010. After watching an introductory video and listening to witness statements, the players access more evidence via a fake version of the Ministry of Justice’s website.

By talking to the police archivist (a character claiming to be on their side), they can find hidden pieces of evidence. It soon becomes clear that there are inconsistencies in the statements that were given in 2010. Following the right clues will lead the players to the inescapable conclusions, and crazy break-throughs with regards to everyone they meet! At the same time, communications reach the players from outside the Zoom call: mysterious text messages, emails, and even a computerised voice calling people by phone. The players even hack into a telecommunications database to search through suspects’ phone data. The clues further suggest something sinister happened that night. Using a mixture of puzzles and live performance, the experience adapts to its players, resulting in something that audiences have described as “brilliantly structured“ and “totally immersive”. Before their time is up, the players must submit a verdict to the Coroner – will they get the right answer in time?

This experience is perfect for teambuilding during remote working, it’s also a great chance to engage and unite colleagues in some collaborative, investigative fun! Running at 1hr45mins, the participants play via Zoom, on a laptop or desktop. The show is best played with 12 people, but this number is flexible depending upon requirements. Through communication, problem solving, delegation and diplomacy, The Inquest demands a wide range of collaboration skills from its participants through an engaging and plot-twisting storyline.
